About Adult Onset Still’s Disease

What is Adult Onset Stills Disease?

Adult Onset Still’s Disease (AOSD) is a rare form of inflammatory arthritis that affects adults. It is characterized by high fever, joint pain and swelling, and a salmon-pink rash. Other symptoms may include fatigue, enlarged lymph nodes, and an enlarged spleen. AOSD is an autoimmune disorder, meaning the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks healthy tissue. Treatment typically involves medications to reduce inflammation and suppress the immune system.
